Trip Grading / Activity Level

The Faroe Islands provide a mixture of easy to moderate hiking opportunities and our unique itinerary is geared towards those who  love to hike in remote mountain locations surrounded on all sides by other islands and open ocean.

The hikes are between 4 and 9 miles per day and can include elevation gain of around 500 to 2500 feet per day.

Some days involve two different hikes morning and afternoon and provide great opportunities to sample the unique culture and history of the islands.

The terrain varies from stony paths to grass covered trails. Almost all of the hiking routes are marked by stone cairns or way markers.

Good quality, waterproof hiking footwear is essential.
